Cover Day (7/1)

Good Morning! Happy July!

I hope y’all enjoyed learning about the medium and the message. Thank you to those of you that have emailed me your activity from yesterday!  I have not gotten around to emailing all of you about your projects, sorry, I will write you today!

Please complete the following before 11:00pm tonight:

Activity: Make a copy of this google document, read it, and complete all the  activities. Email me a copy of your completed document (grantg@live.unc.edu).

Post in Forums: What do you find uneasy about navigating IP?

Watch: The Case for Fan Fiction (feat. Lindsay Ellis and Princess Weekes) | It’s Lit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdDIMOehLm8)

Since we do not have “class” on Friday, I will be holding our discussion tomorrow from 12:30-1:30pm (Thursday, 7/2)

Today is all about working on your Feeder 1 projects:

Topic: Learning how to Create Cover Art

Homework:

  1. Begin work on Cover Art (https://engl149summer2020.web.unc.edu/feeders/)
  2. Post in Forums: Close read an existing fan fiction cover. (How to close read)

I try to say this in the video, but whatever piece of software you are most comfortable with, please use it! Indesign is pretty great, so that’s why I recommend it, but use whatever you want to.

I also mention spark in the video: https://spark.adobe.com/

Please let me know any questions or concerns!

All best,

Grant
