This fanfiction is based off of the members of the body band One Direction. I would say that the way in which this is changed is from the story circumstances in general. This story places the members of 1D as college students. This is an obvious change from their real/everyday life of being international pop stars. Therefore, the “source” would be how we perceive these group members in the real world. The change is the setting and also career change (or lack of careers) that takes place in the book. I don’t know if this is a good example but as I mentioned on another assignment, I’m starting to notice I probably didn’t actually read fanfiction like I thought growing up.I was most likely just reading original short stories.
I don’t read RPF but I think it’s intriguing to see how people basically write AUs of their faves. Like, it’s a really cool expression of understanding the people you are fans of because you’re attempting to say that you know them well enough to image their lives if certain circumstances had been otherwise.
