The series Fringe started as a show on Fox and later became a books series. The show and the books use trnasworld identity because there was an alternate universe in which all the main characters existed, but with slight changes. The show’s premise is fringe science. Fringe science being radical theories, that most scientists do not believe in, but do actually exist. one of the main story arcs was based on the physic’s theory commonly known as the many worlds theory. Peter Bishop, one of the main characters, died in our world when he was a child. His father, Walter, opened a doorway to the other universe and brought the other world’s peter back with him. While both Peters did have the same basic traits i.e. race, gender, sexuality, they had slightly different personalities. One difference was that this world’s peter was allergic to bacon, but the other world’s Peter was not. Peter’s differences were not even the biggest differences. Agent Farnesworth, an FBI linguist and member of Fringe division on this side, was a soldier on the other side. Her personality changed too. Agent Farnsworth was very kind and very sweet, but on the other side was cold, calculating and very robotic. The many worlds theory can, in science fiction, produce interesting, and sometime confusing, story arcs.
