I consider the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons to be the source text because it was their original creation. The TV show is an adaptation. While the first 26 pages of the comic introduce political divisions, the tv show comments on racial divisions that sometimes accompany the political ones. I also consider it an adaptation since it does not have Moore’s support.
