Tags

From this class I am obviously learning a lot about the fan fiction community. Something new that I picked up was the idea of tags. It was hard for me to understand what it was but basically what I am getting from it is that it’s a ways for the author to speak on the book informally. I like the idea that there is informality in the writing. I would like to look into using this in my writing. It seems as though tags can provide further discourse about certain scenes or situations from the story. But I don’t know if my interpretation is fully correct (pls correct me if I’m wrong)!!
