Matt Groning incorporates transworld identity into several episodes of The Simpsons. “Time and Punishment,” (Season 6, Episode 6) is one of the show’s most prominent examples of Transworld Identity. The story begins when home gets his hand stuck in the toaster and, after doing some quick “repairs,” he turns the toaster into a time machine. His adventure through the past begins. Homer’s journeys are seemingly devoid of conflict; however, upon his return, he continuously finds his world transformed by his experiences in the past.
